Erm.. no. I'm a freshman at GT (yes, 'GT' - it's not usually written 'GIT') and the social life is really what you make it. There are frat parties going on all the time with plenty of alcohol if that's your thing, but I'm not a partyer and I'm still having a blast here. If you look, you can find friends easily - there are all types of people here.

The only bad things I have to say about the social life are that 1) some people let themselves get so engrossed in work that they forget to have a social life (their own fault) and 2) the 3:7 girls:guys ratio. But again, you can easily find someone of either gender to hang out with.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "environment in the campus is not suitable for students," but the campus is nice, the students are nice, and there's always something going on on campus.

I also read a lot of bad things about GT before coming here, so I was pretty skeptical. I only came because it was my best financial option. But you know what? I love it and I'm really glad I came.

Agreed completely with maea. I'm a freshman as well.

no Tech has awesome parties and a great social scene! People that don't have a social life is because they haven't tried to find one. Going Greek is a great way to make sure you have a social outlet. There is literally a frat for every type of person at tech from the extreme nerds to the stereotypical fat boy.
