Social life at Harvard Extension

Currently taking prerequisite courses at the extension school. I am college-aged and did plan on moving to the Cambridge-area next year - when financial aid becomes an option. Starting to have second thoughts about staying, however - I feel like it would be a very lonely life… Most college students live in dorms (to my understanding), not sure if you can join clubs, yadda yadda… Any experience/advice/suggestions?

The extension school is nothing like the traditional college experience. Why are you going there? There are many other good options for a college-aged person, that would afford more of a social life. The people who attend classes at HES are varied: high schoolers doing dual enrollment, older people taking classes for enrichment, working people who take classes after work or online. Not sure what you mean by clubs, but no, undergad clubs are for the Harvard College students. You could join clubs in Cambridge, work in Cambridge, go to church or volunteer or other things that could help you meet people. But it’s hard, honestly.

The other thing about HES is it is hard to put together a cohesive major/concentration. Have you done that?
