anyone care to comment? and the drinking scene?

drinkin..big..i would say smokin is too....the only think i think i hate about midd is the social scene....i hear it gets pretty repititive...pretty boring..pretty quickly....not cool...but if ur the drinker/smoker type...well then ur never bored..and well i dont drink/smoke at all..so screwed!....its like a highschool

there's plenty to do for drinkers and non-drinkers. Yes, many people drink, and some smoke. Guess what? That's the case at nearly every college or university in the United States. If you think it'll be any different at places like Bowdoin or Williams or Davidson, you're sorely mistaken. I'd say drinking and drugs are much more widespread at Dartmouth than at Midd...

i'm not saying middlebury is a bad school....i like midd..but im just saying the social scene can get boring....thats all.....and i guess thats true for all lacs..

there must be more that just smoking and drinking? can you be a bit more objective and shed some light on what else there is to do???

a lot of the clubs, teams, and ppl on campus throw parties i hear and if u can show interest..you can get bands to come...the school will pay..um..u can hang out at this pretty cool place..i forgot the name..theres pool tables..food..lounge area..computer area..then u walk into this room with a big screen tv and a bunch of couches...umm theres other things to do i guess..

Burlington, one of the best college towns in the country, is like 45 minutes away, and Montreal is 2 hours away.

There are always dance parties, plays, movies, bands, poetry readings, keg parties, and tons of other stuff going on. In fall and spring you can go camping in the nearby mountains, go canoeing, fishing, kyacking, hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking--basically an outdoor lover's paradise. In town there are plenty of bars and restaurants and a movie theater. In winter, a lot of people ski, skate, and play broomball on the ice rink that is built in the middle of campus.

You'll also be in the library--a LOT....

plenty of restaurants?...really..heh i didnt see any..but i was on campus mostly...and the route i was coming from..i only saw cows..but still middlebury is great...the library was newly built..its pretty..the gyms nice..middlebury has a slope of its own..theres this one hill....from forest dorm and most of the dorms to the auditorium...its like helll.....AHHHHHH!

At least 18 restaurants and bars in Middlebury proper, and a half dozen more just outside town.
