Just wondering about socializing at Pepperdine.

I realize the school is Christian and I'm a Christian, but I need some insight on a typical weeknight and weekend at Pepperdine.

I don't drink now but plan on having fun in college!

Any help would be great!

not trying to be a jerk, but theres like fifteen threads here discussing pepp’s social scene

Typical weeknight… studying, attending late classes, grabbing dinner at the caf, making a late-night run to the hawc for some snacks, cramming for tests, hanging out with friends in the dorms, studying… lots of studying… haha

Typical weekend… sleep in late, grab some food, go out with friends to santa monica or thousand oaks mall, it’s honestly pretty dead on the weekends though, also if you stay over thanksgiving it’s totally deserted.

If you enjoy going out in moderation, you’ll be just fine at Pepperdine. There are plenty of opportunities to go out to parties on the weekends off campus. Social life is abundant, especially within the Greek system.

It doesn’t sound like you’re looking to get smashed on a Tuesday night, in which case I wouldn’t recommend Pepperdine… though I guess that sort of thing still happens here, you just have to make similar friends

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Thanks gwu_girl!

You had it exactly right. I’m not a huge drinker and that stuff would, for me, preferably happen on the weekends.

I appreciate your input. Any other reasons to seriously consider Pepperdine?

Only a million. But I’d say one of the best study abroad programs in the country is a strong motivator.
