Current/recent students are better suited to answer your question, but here are some threads you might be interested in.

W&M social life is very full and active. Its not Animal House, but its a lot of fun. many sororities on campus but you can have a great social life without being in one.

Most W&M students live on campus, so a lot is happening there.

W&M students have a work hard, play hard mentality and are just as enthusiastic about their extracurricular and social involvements as they are their academic involvements. We have over 400 student run clubs and organizations ([William & Mary - Clubs and Organizations](http://www.wm.edu/offices/studentactivities/clubsandorganizations/index.php)), 23 DI varisty sports, 45 club sports team, 20+ intramural leagues and an active Greek system to which about 30% of our student belong. AMP, our campus-wide programming board provides multiple evening events per week running from small scale music nights and movie showings to large-scale concerts and guest speakers. Over 30 multicultural organizations provides lots of celebrated campus events annually as does our Student Activities Office (such as the annual Busch Gardens Day in September/October).

Because 75% of students live on campus most activity takes place on campus which is convenient for our students.

Our social life is really for students by students. If your student is an active and engaged citizen and someone who’s inclined to get involved she’ll have no problem finding things to do on campus. Oftentimes our students complain not that they have nothing to do but that they cannot participate in all of the social outings they wish because of the abudance that are offered on any given weekend.
