social life/ campus personality at midd?

could anyone provide insight on how middlebury is? i know at one LAC i visited (haverford), the kids were pretty awkward and seemed to enjoy discussing worldly topics as opposed to say at like a state u where they'd be playing frisbee. also how are the students? i hear theyre pretty preppy and attractive as a whole. any insight appreciated, thanks

My daughter is on the waitlist at Middlebury. I have visited the campus 3 different times. Amazing students–good looking–athletic–intelligent–clever–Friendly–NOT NERDY–NOT PRETENTIOUS–NOT FULL OF THEMSELVES. Middlebury students seem to have the total package when it comes to be well rounded in every way.

I would agree that Middkids are well-rounded and not at all awkward as a whole. There are some politically active students, some artsy students and a lot of athletes.

Right, my S says really, everyone is nice. There is a strong community vibe. As he said “Even the people I don’t want to be friends with are nice.”
My boys are from public school, and we get financial aid. They have had no trouble fitting in with the prep school kids and the children of the rich and powerful…They have friends from around the world now-One was just saying he could visit people in LA, Chicago, NYC, Boston, France, Bulgaria, Singapore etc etc this summer-if he didn’t have to work!

sorry if this sounds shallow but are the people attractive? is it relatively easy to get a girlfriend?

Yes, the students at Midd for some reason do tend to be attractive (particularly me when I was a student there). It was known as the home of the beautiful people. I think because people are pretty active. However, the ease of getting a girlfriend will have a lot more to do with you than with the people at Middlebury.
