Has anyone here lived in a single? if so, i was wondering if getting a single puts you at a disadvantage in terms of making friends. My friends in other colleges have told me that it does, but i was wondering if it was the same at cornell, since cornell offers a lot of singles for transfers. I would like my privacy, but at the same time, i feel like it might be a lot more difficult to make more friends in the residence hall. Can anyone shed some light into this?

While the housing office is holding beds for transfer students in the west campus dorms....I'm not too sure how many singles will be available. I'm also not sure how many singles and doubles are available in each suite....but I do believe the plan to have all transfers in a particular suite.

In this case...having a single in a suite doesn't really put you at a disadvantage since you'll be around your suitemates and sharing a common living area. As for the Gothics....I think that's a different issue. I had a friend in North Baker...it was a very quiet hall and I didn't see people too often when I went over.
