<p>I’ve heard UCI is dead on weekends and is more of a commuter school while UCSD has little school spirit with the rep of being “socially dead.” More insight about these schools will be greatly appreciated. :)</p>

Students review isn’t precise enough to give you extreme accuracy. But anything below a 70% is worrisome imo. I’ve been on campus a lot and there is very little school spirit. In fact, a lot of students seem bitter about not getting into their #1 and having to “settle” for ucsd. Really horrible atmosphere. Very strong academics in hard science, but you really have to accept UCSD as a place for studying exclusively.
UCI is a bit of a commuter school on the weekends but people like the school overall. UCI also has a lot more areas within driving distance that are known for partying which I think is a good thing. Campus has less rowdy drunken students and there still is a location to blow off steam when required. UCSD is surrounded by lajolla (rich area ) and there are a lot less parties.</p>
