How is the social life at Drexel?
I mean I am not a hardcore partier, but I like to go out and have fun. I like to occasionally go to those stereotypical senior parties. Other than dorm parties, what else happens at drexel?

I would love to hear an answer from a current Drexel Student.

I am not a hardcore Party person either. i would like to know what students do at Drexel and Around the city in their free-time.

Are there “Nerds” or “Geeks” or at least “gamers” at Drexel? I categorize myself like that, although i do not like the names given to them.

Dorm parties? In the dorms? I’d say it’s pretty difficult getting parties in the dorms mostly because your R.A. would probably kick your ass (or someone else would tell the R.A. to kick your ass). But parties are pretty standard every night Thurs-Sat across Powelton St. and the frat houses. University Crossings is also standard place to browse the floors and follow the music, though they’ve been getting more strict the last year or so. But I really wouldn’t know, not much of a party person.

But it’s like… Philadelphia. There’s always something going on. Musicians and things pretty much everywhere if you’re into that. If you have no idea, check out Uwishunu ([Uwishunu - Philadelphia Blog About Things to Do, Events, Restaurants, Food, Nightlife and More](<a href=“Uwishunu: The Best Things to Do in Philadelphia — Visit Philadelphia”>http://www.uwishunu.com/)) might give you some idea of what the city puts on. Old City for restaurants and the usual tourist tour. Chinatown for food and… yeah, pretty much food. There’s a lot of food. Restaurant Week tends to be popular. Northern Liberties for the more artsy lifestyle. Art Museum, Opera, Symphony, tons of theatres, um… Really, if you get bored here you’re just not trying. And even if you hate everything in Philly, just jump on a bus to New York, Jesus… >.>

Oh, if you wanted to know what “Drexel” does, it’s mostly from student orgs: speakers, presentations, food, films, workshops, cupcakes, quizzos, idek. Drexel has something like 350+ student orgs? A lot, anyway. For whatever you’re into. That includes Greek life too. Lots of people in fraternities and sororities. If that’s your thing.

Yes. There are geeks at Drexel. Check out DragonLAN (www.facebook.com/groups/dragonlan/). Also, I think there’s another Anime and Gamers Org? Also, DGDG (Drexel Game Developers Group). There’s also always a few people playing tabletop games in the basement of Creese. I think they have a group, but I don’t know… They might just be a bunch of people who like to play tabletop games.

Also, not a gamer group but I love seeing them at the DAC at night, our Jedi Team: https://www.youtube.com/user/DrexelDragonJedi
