what’s BC social life like? any current students here?

It def. has a reputation as a party school, with weekends starting wed. night. Most of the parties are in senior housing on campus, or in off-campus apartments in allston/brighton. I don't know how much pressure there is to drink, but beer is certainly popular.

From my stay there, it seems that alcohol is very popular in any grade, but there's really no pressure (since personally, I don't really drink)
Various clubs also have parties quite frequently & the school has a couple of socials

i was actually wondering about social life at BC... is it easy to get into the parties? or is it like a guestlist thing... if someone knows more about the whole thing fill me in cause i was a little concerned since BC doesn't have frats and sororities

I'm not really sure about the social life so to say... But just remember... your just a T ride away from one of the greatest college cities in the country. You would have about a hundred picks of clubs, bars, restaurants, sporting events, concerts... I don't think that there'd be a problem at all.

that's true but you know you def wanna go to parties at your school at first before you head out to Boston and you wanna meet people. Boston is def a great place...

Also does anyone know if upper campus is better for social life because its closer to the parties or do people at Newton have as much opportunity since its a freshmen campus?

From what I've heard from friends at BC, Upper campus frosh do have easier access to parties in senior housing on lower campus, but if they try to have one in their dorms (with alcohol), they are usually quickly broken up by campus cops. On Newton, it's a longer trek to upperclassmen parties, but there is less supervision in the dorms... a more laid-back atmosphere.
