<p>I wanna know if there is alot of stuff to do social at the university as in parties , activites, sororities, Sports and are sororitiesthe main social scene, is there a really big social life or is it just a very strong emphasis on academics</p>
<p>well you can get into the bars if you're 19 which means they're packed on the weekends. we are a very social school but when it comes down to grades we also know how to keep our grades up and do our homework. we also have the largest greek campus in the entire nation. i'm guessing you're a girl? there's never a time where you can say there's nothing to do. there are also non-alcoholic options to participate in.</p>
<p>social life kicks ass if you take advantage of it and get involved. I hate going on break because I feel like I could be having so much more fun at school.</p>
<p>I've heard the social life is a bit worse for the Engineers. They end up studying a lot so I've heard they'll do things like have "study parties". Definitely not non-existent, but worse then average at UIUC.</p>
<p>lol you should tell that to my two freshmen roommates last semester. ones in mechanical the others in electrical. came back so drunk every single weekend. i just shook my head and had to hoist them up to their beds b/c they always passed out near the door...</p>
