Social Life?

<p>So I have heard many rumors about the UCLA social atmosphere. I hear that a lot of people go home on the weekends so it is not as social.</p>

<p>I am hoping this is not true. I plan to join a sorority as well but it really is a bummer if people just go home.</p>

<p>a source told me a significant number of first years go home on weekends, anywhere from 30-50%. do a lot of people go home? yes. but there are thousands who always stay.</p>

<p>it's not like UCLA is a commuter campus, far from it.
dorms would feel the impact more than other places (apts, greek houses) simply because like namaste said, it's generally the first years who go home the most. but considering how many people go here who are not from socal and can't go home that often, there will always be plenty of first years, not to mention the rest of the older students, who are here.</p>
