Is Bowdoin a big party school? I keep hearing things that the social scene isn’t that great . . . I know Bowdoin has great academics; however, that alone doesn’t make the school 100% appealing. I’m looking for a school where I can work hard and play hard. Does anyone have party/social scene information?

Umm the last time i partied at Bowdoin I woke up in another state.

There's definitely some partiers out there. They have some decent keggers, I'll tell ya.

Um I was just at Bowdoin, for the Bowdoin experience. From what I saw as pre-frosh, you def. can work hard and STILL PLAY HARD. Also just to let you know, social life is all what you make of it. If your into drinking you def. can do that, and if your into other things thats fine as well, like you can go singing karaoke in the pub. But yea if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

RunningForLife88- when you visted this past weekend, did you go out with a current student? If you did . . . what did yall go do?

Yea i did, I mean the guy took me to some parties, had a few fun rounds of beer pong. Then I went dancing in the pub. Also the other thing which was cool was this Asian fashion show. I'm mean there is plenty of stuff to do. If you want to ask more questions, feel free to im me at brooklinedpole.

Are there certain stereotypes for the social houses? Is there one that is more fun than the other or does it just depend on the rising freshman class?

it really depends on who is in them.

Well, when I visited Bowdoin at its invitational in November, I had fun. They had parties, and things were pretty active. I'm not sure if things were active because of the scheduled arrival of the pre-frosh, but I loved it. Those 3 days were so enjoyable.

The ASA Fashion show was incredible and sooo memorable at the BE. The hosts were hilarious! Oh and the whole scene with the girl from "The Ring" was freaky, but cleverly done ;)

how was/is Ivies Weekend? What type of parties go on during it?

AMAZING!
There is stuff from Wednesday night at 8:00, and it isn't done yet. Brunwsick Festival, Harpswell, Pinestock, Union Street, the LAX Game ended up being almost a party, with people slip n sliding in the rain and cold. Quite a wild weekend. TravisD - tell us more, I saw you last night and you were having a good time.

Oh wow... ivies weekend... hahaha. slaps knee

I honestly can't describe much of what happened. It was just like living in a different world.
