Social Life

How is it? Are there parties? Are things in the city accessible? Or is it a dead campus just like its rumoreed to be?

There are certainly parties: active greek life and lots of people have smaller ones at their houses / appartments. There's plenty to do on and off campus, you just have to take the iniative and do them.

Check out the student newspaper (<a href="http://www.jhunewsletter.com%5B/url%5D">www.jhunewsletter.com</a>) They have a calendar with sponsored events and such. Also check out the jolt (jhu.dailyjolt.com) but be forewarned that most of the people who post on the forum are the ones who sit in their dorms all the time and whine! Don't be like them! :)

the inner harbor is like 10 min by shuttle (provided by jhu) and there is night life there

guys, there is definitely a social life here. ive been here for 4 yrs now and ive had PLENTY of fun. freshman year, you will end up at fraternity parties on fri n sat nights. on thursdays, most clubs in baltimore have college night so most of you frosh will go there. by the time you guys are into your junior year, you will start exploring Federal HIll, which is simply 2 streets of pubs, bars, lounges, etc. the inner harbor is great. beyond that fells point, towson mall center are both very popular places for hopkins students. shuttles will take you to most places.

is it possible to stay overnight on a friday? the website form only allows m-th.. i have to see the night life if you know what i mean.

if you know someone who goes to hopkins, just stay with them, and dont tell the admissions office, that's how i visited in the fall.

boethian, you could stay with a friend on friday or do the thursday night one. most hopkins freshman will go out on thursday night as it is college night
