social life

my son is considering wake
seems quiet- what do they do for movies- pizza?
do you have to join a frat?

I think there is quite a bit to do. Yes, fraternities are popular, but for most people they are just one social avenue to participate in. Sure, for some folks their frats are their lives, but you will find that with everything from academics to sports teams. Intramural sports are very popular too. Wake Forest has a pretty nice campus community and the administration has worked hard to integrate downtown Winston-Salem into the lives of Wake Forest students.

I think it all depends on what you are interested in doing. As long as you are outgoing and friendly, you should fit in well.

yeah im curious cause it seems like greek life is basically the social scene which isn’t too much me.

You definitely don’t need to be in a fraternity at Wake. Of my suitemates, all 5 are not greek, although I am. A lot of my friends are actually not greek and they do have a good time. For the most part, parties are open to anyone.

Also, they are building a social “barn” where groups of all sorts can organize social events.

Bottom line- yes greek life is big, but there is plenty to do besides greek life.

Ditto wilmingtonwave! I’ve made several posts on this issue if you’re interested in seeing them

Wneckid99 - I’m glad you seem to be enjoying your time at Wake/rushed/are getting involved; I know you had a lot of questions at the beginning of this process but yay!

Yes thank you pinkcupcake for all your help.

I had a lot of questions just because I wanted to make sure I made the right decision and knew all about Wake (albeit some really dumb questions) and you were more than helpful! Thanks for your help, as I’m loving Wake so far and hope to help more people on this site!
