Hello!
I am a prospective athlete for Johns Hopkins University (for the class of 2022). A few days ago the official Johns Hopkins University Instagram account requested to follow me. Does this mean that the college really has an interest in me to the point where they want to see what kind of social media I post?
My postings aren’t bad at all, and some of them are of me at Johns Hopkins, but I was just curious about whether this shows that I have a good chance of getting accepted.
Thanks in advance!
They may have a bot that follows anyone who follows them.
Just keep your nose clean.
It means they will probably check to make sure applicants arent posting stuff such as the memes that got the Harvard kids booted out. I would definitely let them follow you. It means you have nothing to hide. I don’t necessarily think it means they have higher interest in you than other kids.
They have 24,000 followers and are only following 284 users
24,000 users out of how many alumni, current grad and under-grad students, wishful thinkers, casual observers, etc…?
If you are being recruited, my guess is you are being scrutinized a little more closely than perhaps a non-athlete would be. Of course they are interested, but don’t read too much into it.
