Hey! A lot of my friends are starting to worry about colleges having access to their social media, but other people are telling me that colleges actually like to see the social media of their students to see how socially involved they are… I’ve never had any social media because I just didn’t want the pressure of keeping up with it, I don’t really enjoy it. Will that hurt me too? Obviously controversial content on an account could have a negative influence but would not having any look bad too? Thanks!
It will not hurt you. More harm than good can be done to college admissions by social media. Some colleges allow a Zeme portfolio but you don’t need other social media if you decide to use that as a supplement.
I’ll look into that, thank you!
I would look at your FB page/twitter as a member of the public would see it and see if there is anything embarassing…not “my friends are silly” but “here is me holding a beer” or saying somethign disparaging.
