Social scene at georgetown?

Hi everyone,

My cousin graduated from GU in 2015 and since georgetown is my first choice i asked her what the social scene is like. She told me that Greek Life isn’t big at georgetown, but that there are some fraternities and sororities (also a B frat??) but mostly the parties are thrown by clubs. I’ve done some other research online about the frats because I’m interested in joining a fraternity but my cousin also told me about the secret societies at georgetown and that also sounds fun. I know they’re supposed to be secret and all that but does anyone know anything about the secret societies at georgetown? Are they fun to be a part of? Is it even possible to join them? Also, she mentioned something about POND but i haven’t been able to find anything about it online.

Can anyone at georgetown let me know whats up with the social scene at GU?

Thanks

My dad went there and he told me about some of the students that attended…literal royalty and incredibly wealthy and powerful legacy kids. I’m sorry I don’t know too much about the social scene otherwise at Georgetown, but I will say that what the school lacks in Greek Life, it compensates for in prestige of its student body.

I am a student at Georgetown, and here’s my input. Greek life is present at Georgetown, but it is not the sole focus of the social scene. If you want greek life, you can join and partake in it. If you don’t, then there are various other social groups to get involved in. Because the school does not emphasize greek life, the clubs and student organizations are often where you meet friends, party, etc. The clubs take the place of frats here. I have no idea about the secret societies lol.

Secret societies are at Yale.

Hard to believe that in the year 2019 there are still students who want to join a fratertinty/sorority. Then again it’s hard to believe there are college students who actually want to work on Wall Street after graduation.

@NMParent000079 What’s wrong with the notion of college students wanting to build a career at Wall Street?

@florida19 Haha.
