Social Scene for non drinkers

Can you bring a car on campus?

What do people do on or off campus other than drink?

Thanks for help.

Yes, you can have a car on campus.

And the answer to the 2nd question...?

play ddr / gh3 / rockband

oh, and wow and halo

how did i forget those...

Yes you can have a car
and there's stuff to do without drinking -- whether its seeing plays, concerts, movies (freewater films is great), sporting events, going to parties and not drinking, etc... whatever you want really.

1.) Yes
2.) It is possible. However, do not go to a bar like Shooters sober!! It will make it harder for you to h/u with somebody. Also places such as these aren't very conversation-friendly. Parties make up a lot of the social scene and many of them are more fun when drunk than sober (except for the ones which don't make drinking a top priority and have other things to do). This is a sad truth, but it is the case. Most people go to these parties to get drunk in the first place. You will definitely find people who are interested in other stuff besides drinking at Duke and guaranteed you will be able to have many fun, sober Saturday nights. :)

wait till super smash brothers brawl gets out =P

oh yes!
i cannot wait for that game.
my grades are going to go down so much because of it.
good thing i'm a pledge and will not be spending all of my time on brawl.
however, when it comes to brawl v. studying for exams, it is obvious what wins.

Oh cool, so it's OK to go to a party and not get drunk? I mean, people won't look down on others because they choose to abstain from alcohol?

Without a doubt. Most people will be too drunk to notice whether or not you are, anyway. No one judges people who don't drink. Even people who do drink don't drink on certain nights, it's not a problem.

Awesome. Thanks!

college (duke) is so much different than high school... most people have a decent sense of individualism and don't expect anyone else to do the same things that they do. In most cases, serious judgment is not passed based on one's choice of activities.

however, most people do still like to hang out with people with similar interests, whether it be drinking on a wednesday night at shooters or playing smash brothers on friday while sipping cocacola.
