Obviously UOP is the small private school, but even small schools have some sort of night life. I was just curious if someone could tell me a little bit about it. It is mostly house parties or frat parties? Do you always end up seeing the same people out or do you meet a variety of people? etc
Hi! So I am a current senior here at UOP so I have seen my fair share of parties and night life. The night life is definitely there. If you are 21 there are a few nice bars and clubs within a mile of the school. And then for those younger than 21 there are plenty of house parties hosted by frats (professional and social), athletes and others. Most parties are off campus in off-campus housing, but none are ever farther than a 10 min walk. Yes it is a very small school so once you are at your junior year, maybe even sophomore year you know pretty much everyone, but that doesn’t mean you don’t ever meet anyone new. Even as a senior I still meet new people all the time.
Having grown up in this town, I can tell you that UOP itself is fine. However, the surrounding community of Stockton is nationally infamous for crime and violence. To this day while visiting, I try not to stop to buy gas or anything else (i.e. get in and get out). Party and club off campus at your own risk.
