Social Scene- UIUC, Purdue, Wisconsin or UT

who has a better social scene UIUC, Purdue, Wisconsin or UT-Austin???

On campus, I would say Wisconsin, closely followed by UIUC, closely followed but UT and finally, a significant drop to Purdue.

Of campus, UT, closely followed by Wisconsin, significant drop to UIUC and another significant drop to Purdue.

That’s just my opinion of course.

I really think this is a strange stereotype here on CC. Every child I know at Purdue has absolutely no complaints about the social scene. They are very happy.

They have not been anywhere else. I went down to Purdue for a football game and there was virtually no activity. No kids out and about and really not many places to go. A dead zone.

dbwes, Purdue is not bad socially, but in this thread, it is going up against some of the most prolific party schools and awesome college towns in the country. Austin and Madison are AWESOME! West Lafayette, I am sorry to say, is not that great a college town. As fas as the campuses go, Purdue is definitely nice. but UIUC and Wisconsin are incredible. Again, as Brutus would say, it is not that I love Purdue/West Lafayette less, but that I love UIUC, Wisconsin and UT-Austin more!

Purdue is dead last–and last by a country mile. Wisconsin & the Univ. of Texas at Austin are possibly the two most socially vibrant schools in the nation. Illinois is as should be expected for a large rural state school.

Well, sure, I would pick Austin and Madison over West Lafayette, too, but I stand by my comment that Purdue kids are pretty happy. And Barrons, they have been other places – everybody visits their friends at all the other schools.

Madison is well known for its social scene. I believe its always mentioned in the cockamamie polls about schools that drink a lot and other non sense.

Wisconsin did NOT make the list of the Top Ten Party schools this year.

You can’t see it but a single solitary tear is running down my cheek.

Nor the Top 20. But last Saturday it was still all systems go. I hear the weekday partying is what has gone way down.
