Alright, I’m going to try to answer as many questions as I can and more importantly as honestly/accurately as I can.

The social scene is a good mix. I have yet to meet any preppy kids with loads of money, nor hipsters who want to stand out. There may be a few here and there of course as I have not met everyone but for the most part everyone is quite average. As in, there are a healthy mix of athletes, scholars, and the strange group (no offense but this is where I place nerds and generally less “mainstream” kids). Having said that still, it is a healthy mix, and there are plenty of each and more subcategories for one to fit into.

The weekends are, for the most part, parties. Most learn quickly where these are as there is a street of houses that just weekly throw parties for freshman and such. Generally upperclassmen parties are closed. It is your standard girls are free, guys are five dollar parties with a few kegs and jungle juice. The basement is a raging over-packed basement with loud music. There are more guys than girls, but not overwhelmingly so. Some people head over to Penn campus. They have some great parties as well, but they are harder to get into unless you know someone or have a great girl/guy ratio.

If you are a girl, you can generally go/do whatever you want. If you are a guy, stick with girls. Depending on your group of friends you can head into the city. I usually don’t and most under 21 don’t either. The city is more geared towards bars/clubs during the nights and as such you will plan accordingly (if you have a fake or not weighs in on this). During the day, you can do various activities such as go to museums and sight-seeing. My friends and I like to go into the city to eat at various restaurants. This I highly recommend.

When it is warm out, the campus always has things to do. It is lively and fun. As long as you put yourself out there and participate you will find there is something going on at all times of the day with plenty of people to join you. When it is cold out, not much. There is basketball in the gym, and some scattered activities but most stay inside. When it snows, there are massive snowball fights. Last year it was epic and I had the time of my life (again, if you choose to head out). So really it is up to you.

Are students at Drexel open to what? If you are at a party, then generally most are looking for hook-ups and drunk nights. If you aren’t or know people prior to said party than it is about creating friendships.

If you are looking for the latter and generally want a good social life, join Greek life. You will have good insight into all the people at Drexel and will know who wants what. For Drexel, Greek life is really popular and I highly recommend it if you want to be social.

Hope I could help.
