So I'm really interested in Georgetown. I know that they have amazing political sciences and international relations programs. I've also heard a lot about students going pre-med &such there.

However, I was wondering if anybody had any insight to how the social sciences are at Georgetown. Especially psychology and anthropology, perhaps philosophy.

psych and philosophy are great, no doubt about it. as a general rule, humanities are tops at gu, including philosophy--english and theology as well. social sciences--psych, econ, history, govt, pol-econ are all awesome. i'm not sure about anthro, but it's a really small department. actually i think it's the sociology/anthropology dept. i know they have some cool classes and i'm sure some great professors, but definitely 2 of the smaller programs here.

psych is good @ gtown. you can focus on many areas of psychology with various course offerings, whether its social psych, child psych, biological psych, etc. i was a psych minor and the courses were all interesting. psych is known (everywhere) for not being a difficult major, and it isn't, but the classes are definitely interesting and you'll still need to put in the work. there are a lot of opportunities to do lab work, and many courses (research methods being the big one) will ask you to conduct a study that you'll present and display your findings to on the psych department floor. the child psychology classes are definitely popular, esp. among nursing and other non-psych majors. there's also clinical neuropsychology, which allows you to study the clinical side of neuropsychological disorders, then spend time in a clinical setting with patients (autism, ADHD, etc.). and there's the affiliated cognitive science program if you're interested in that related area.
