Social Settings - UCSD, UCLA, UC Berk

prospective student here and wondering what are the scenes at each one of the 3 colleges Ive mentioned? SD sounds like lotta tanned ppl, and berk looks real urban, LA like hollywood, phony? any thoughts?

Out of all of those UCLA will have the best social scene followed by UC Berkeley and UCSD which is a distant 3rd I might add.

is it cuz sd is in some posh town?

If you want to surf ----> UCSD.
If you want to do anything else ---->UCLA or UCB.

UCSD has a rep for being a very geeky school. Both UCLA and UCB are known for being very competitive but LA seems to come off a little better.

It really depends on what one is after.

I completely love the social environment here... but i'm about as geeky as they come.

UCLA social life is more superior than UCB or UCSD

UCLA has its own campus village in Bel Air ......

Perhaps instead of just saying the social life is better, you could explain which parts of the social aspects of the place are better (in your opinion). Or, more realistically, how they differ.

UCLA has its own campus village in Bel Air ......

Bangs head against desk

Westwood has some stuff to do, as does Berkeley. UCLA has LA, which is somewhat spread out, and Berkeley has San Francisco, which is also somewhat spread out, but less so than LA. It is easier, overall, to get to most of San Fran from Berkeley than most of LA from UCLA.

i loved the atmosphere in berkeley especially downtown because i love san francisco.

at ucsd, it's nice but it gets boring.

la is overwhelming i heard but you have a lots to do
