Do you meet a lot of friends at freshman orientation/frosh parties?

My college has a freshman group on Facebook and some added me and I added some. Everyone at my LAC is very open and we have agreed on trips already.

You could start there, and I am sure Orientation will have activities for you to meet tons of people.

There’s suppose to be a freshmen orientation.

If you live in the dorm, you can always meet tons of people there!!

Basically just be super-open to meeting new people in any situation you find yourself in. Everyone will be equally alone/nervous about meeting new people so at least at my university, I’ve found that people are more open the first few weeks than they may be otherwise. Go into any new relationship with the knowledge that some people may become your best friends, others you may never talk to again, either way is okay because at least you’re trying.

But yeah, generally, things like freshman orientation, pre-orientation trips, dorms, new student groups, etc. are great ways to meet people.

parties seriously? I’ve yet to see one at my school.

I too think FB is a good place to start.

Welcome Week Activities.

Your dorm. Leave your door propped open and just say hi to people passing by. I’m really good with friends with several people on my hall now just because one person always left her dorm open and we had to pass by there every time we went to our room.
