Sociology 5

Has anyone taken or is planning to take Sociology 5 with Nasatir this fall? Any personal reviews of him and in his in terms of teaching style, ease of class, etc? Or anyone know who's the best GSI out of the 3 for the class: Jessica Cobb, Jenifer Seminatore, Shoonchul Shin?

Any information is appreciated.

Anyone know anything about Soc 5?

I'd appreciate any information anyone knows about Sociology 5, even if it's not by Nasatir.

Come on, I'm dying for some advice from anyone before I have to sign up for my Phase II.

I'm wondering the same thing. I plan on taking Socio 5 in the fall. I would take it with Nasatir but I don't know anything about him (since there aren't any reviews of him on ratemyprofs). So now I'm leaning towards Haveman.

I took Socio 5 last semester for a week before dropping it due to schedule conflicts. From what I've heard, the material in general is kind of dry regardless of what professor you have. But I need it for my major and already bought the book so I have to take it now.

I'm planning on taking it with Nasatir. I could take it with Haveman, but with Nasatir it fits better with my schedule. I'm not too certain yet if I'm going to take it, but when I read Nasatir's syllabus, it seems doable for someone who doesn't know much about sociology.

Here's Nasatir's syllabus for Fall 2008, & I was wondering if you knew if Haveman's syllabus was easier/tougher than Nasatir's:
<a href="http://sociology.berkeley.edu/faculty/nasatir/pdf/08SYL5.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://sociology.berkeley.edu/faculty/nasatir/pdf/08SYL5.pdf</a></p>

Wow. No book required? I don't have Haveman's syllabus (and trust me, I searched for it) but I do know that Haveman requires a textbook-- Babbie's "The Practice of Social Research" (it's no page-turner). Hmm, I'm reconsidering Nasatir now.

And in my other thread ("Distance between classes...") about getting from mulford to evans on time.. the mulford class is suppose to be my Socio 5 class w/ Haveman. I can probably avoid risking being late by taking Socio 5 with Nasatir.. although I'd need to get from Kroeber to Evans with that schedule. Ahh, Evans will be the death of me. -___-

Yeah, no book required was something I was drawn by. & the rest of the grading seems doable and maybe "easy" to do. As I said in your other thread about the distance from Mulford to Evans, I think it'll be difficult to do, but Kroeber to Evans I believe is more possible because it is relatively flat and is a straight path like going up from Mulford to Evans. Please send me information if you get any info on Haveman's Sociology 5 class, grading policy, teaching style, ease/difficulty, etc, & if you decide to take Nasatir or Haveman, because it's always nice to know someone in a class. :)

Anyone else know anything about Sociology 5, with Nasatir, Haveman, or the class in general. All information is appreciated.

Since no one seems to know about Soc 5, if you know someone that does, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry to pest to keep asking, but will do until I get answers I need.

Still looking for help answering my question.

Anyone please?

Still waiting until someone can help me.
