Sociology at Cal Poly?

I was admitted to Cal Poly as a Sociology major, and I am considering going there. I just don’t know if Cal Poly SLO’s Liberal Arts department is as good as their Engineering department and/or other math/science majors. Can anyone give me any insight about their Liberal Arts majors and how reputable they are? Thank you!

Cal Poly is a great school. However, the liberal arts department is not nearly as good as the other departments like engineering, business, or math and science. Still good, but not up the par of those departments.

As someone who majored in a liberal arts major, my honest opinion is that it’s not as good as engineering, architecture, agriculture, business, etc., but it’s still good. Some liberal arts programs are more well known than others, such as graphic communication, and all of them still try to see incorporate the learn by doing philosophy in some way. My advice would be to pair sociology with a contrasting-complimentary minor, such as economics or statistics, regardless of where you go to school.
