As a transfer student I've been accepted to UCSD, UCLA, UCB, and UCI as a sociology major. I've narrowed it down to UCSD and UCLA based on location (I'm currently in northern San Diego county). I'm having trouble deciding which school to attend - any thoughts or suggestions? I am planning on attending law school after my undergraduate studies. UCLA has prestige, but UCSD is closer to home and offers an area of emphasis in law and society ( in conjunction with my Sociology major).

I greatly appreciate your feedback!

If costs are not a factor, then I would suggest UCLA.

Auntbea, why UCLA? I was offered the same amount if aid at both schools, so aid does not play a large role since my tuition will be fully paid at both schools with financial aid.

I would go for SD just because it will be more convenient since you won’t have to commute. You take more from the school when the campus is close to where you live.

My cousin graduated from UCLA with a sociology degree and got a job right when she graduated. I don’t know if this has any relevance.

Err, I just read the part about grad school.
