Sociology

I took a course in introductory sociology and found it sooooo interesting. I think it's something I would love majoring in. The problem is, I dont really know what kind of jobs you can get. Anything that can make a decent amount of $ ?
Also does anyone know how the soc dept. at Cal is?

Berkeley invented the study of Sociology and their grad program is number 1 in the country. Of course this is just grad rankings and you could prolly get a great liberal arts education in sociology at a lot of schools, but you can't go wrong with Berkeley. I really don't know about the job prospects.

Sociology basically puts you on the academic track where you write about women's studies, Africana, GLBT studies, etc. You see those big-a$$ books in the 'Social Science Research' department? Yep.

It can also put you on track for a lot of other professional fields outside of academia as well (i.e. it's a great course of undergrad study for law school, business school, and even medical school, among other things). The more I've looked into it, the more I've found sociology lends itself to so many other disciplines.
