Software Engineering?

I've noticed that not many schools offer a software engineering program. Why is that? Is this program kinda new? Or do the Computer Science and Computer Engineering programs overlap the SE area?

Can anyone give any insight on SE? What are the similarities/differences between CS and CE? Why choose SE over CS? I've been asking this myself all the time.

Software engineering is the entire process of creating a piece of software, planning, development, testing, supporting, etc. It’s basically taking CS to the next level and applying it to real world situations.

lol @ Software Engineers applying what they know to ‘real world’ situations.

Here is some info from a previous post of mine on the topic of software engineering.
