these are the most annoying questions on the sat for me
can someone please post all the formulas/rules/tips i need to know to answer these questions

You should buy the Cracking the SAT 2012 edition by Princeton Review. They have all the formulas and also they have diagrams to show you so it’ll really help. But just to tell you. Some of the formulas include the pythagorean thereom: a^2+b^2=c^2. The 30-60-90 formula, and the 45-45-90 formula.

Know how to compute the volume and surface areas of certain shapes:

Rectangular prism: V = lwh, SA = 2(lw+wh+lh), Cube: V = s^3, SA = 6s^2
Pyramid/Cone: V = (1/3)Ah, A = area of base, SA = sum of all faces (for cones this can get a bit tricky)
Sphere: V = (4/3)pi(r^3), SA = 4pi*r^2

Also, expect to see problems involving the Pythagorean theorem, 30-60-90 and 45-90-90 triangles, as myoliewufan1995 stated. You may or may not see Euler’s formula: V + F - E = 2 for all polyhedra.

You probably don’t have to buy a huge SAT book if you’re struggling on just one topic.
