Q1: what do you guys think about the microfridge that BU is offering at $200 rent? any of you, applying for a microfridge to be kept in your room?

Q2: during vacation time, do we have to pack up and take even our pillows, bed covers and stuff or can those be left behind?

Q3: are we allowed to have guests in our rooms for a day?

I think it's a really good idea since you can't have a microwave in your room unless it's that one. But that's just me, a man who lives out of a toaster oven and is a master at 10 minute chicken nuggets.

The only time you have to pack up all of your stuff is when you move in and out. Certain things have to be shut off and take out etc. during winter break and I dunno when else. I'm really not sure though.

I believe that you have to fill out a guest policy thing at least 24 hours in advance.

thanks for that. so i guess i will submit an application for a microfridge to be kept in my room, though i'll ask my roommate to share half the cost though!
nice to hear that we can have guests occasionally, even though the procedure might be a little complicated.

It took them an unbelievably long time to change the guest policy slightly...I wouldn't expect it too change much any time soon.

I think the microfridge is an ok deal. I didn't get it my sophomore year and wish that I did. Other than that, I've gotten one every summer and school year.

As was mentioned, you don't actually move out during winter/spring break. You do have to leave, though--if you want to stay, you have to pay extra ($20/day) to stay in a hotel.

You can have friends come hang out, but they have to be signed in. You can have a friend stay over (except during the first and last two weeks), but you need to fill out paper work (sometimes days in advance).
