Some errors on the test

did anybody notice an error on one of the blank-response on math?

it gave f(x) and x then asked for f(a) > a or something like that

the question was easy but still an error

I noticed that too except I thought it gave f(x) and asked for something about an a. I don't get it either.

what was the answer for that?

f(x) = |3x -17 |

something like

f(a) < a - maybe it was f(a) > a

what is a possible answer?

8sparks11, it was f(a)<a, f(x) given

it should be 6 or greater or something

6 or greater? why would 5 not work?

|(3)(5) - 17 | = 2

a = 5

so ... 2<5 ??

it was greater than or equal to 1 i believe
so 6 would be make it exactly 1 and 7 would make it 4 and so on

I think I wrote my answer as 1 for that one...
Is that a possible answer? =/

so ... would 5 not work? although 5 gives you a negative answer it is the absolute value, so 15-17 = -2, but it will = 2 since it is absolute. So then 5 > 2? lol someone explain please im lost!

i believe 5 works, i put 5 because 2<5.

I put 5 ... at least I am really hoping I did. I really hope I did not mark 4 on that one.

I wrote 17/3?

is that okay?

lilblewskydragon, 1 doesnt work
|(3)(1)-17| = 14

STLFan it works since its greater than 5

Darn... can somebody clarify the question for me? I must've read it incorrectly =(

thanks chickenboi

I didn't want to waste any time so I set it equal to zero

f(x) = |3x-17|
when value of a is f(a) < a?
something like that

its 5 or greater

Crap I must've switched the inequality -_- I thought something was wrong with my answer... I should've checked it.

Pheww, I chose 5. Guess and check. <3
