Some Essay Topics tell me what you think

1.Going to India one summer thinking that i’m just gonna waste 6 weeks of my summer vacation and instead, my grandpa teaching me how to build a computer (learned how to barter and buy), which i eventually used the skills to start a little homebased business selling hand built computers.

First day of a summer job working at NYPIRG (New York Public Interest Research Group) going door to door,(Wanted to be different, when all my friends would go find easy jobs at say a department store or a fast food restaurant, had to travel to downtown and went across the city) how i was shaking and nervous because i had to knock on doors and talk to the people to help out our causes and become members but overcame it and set the record for amount raised in one week. (is this one a little too arrogant or played out?)

Thanks in advance 4 the help

Don't worry about being arrogant.

Really, I don't think topic on it's own matters so much. Both of those could be good topics. They're not overly original, but with so many applicants, it'll be hard to come up with a completely original topic. If you choose one of those, just make sure you use a lot of descriptive detail and make sure it reflects who you are. Don't do something that doesn't reflect you just because you think the college will like it, because you could very well be wrong about what the college wants.

Both are those are legit. I think the first one is more personal because it deals with your family. The second one is cool too because sales is damn hard and you were bold enough to go for it. Props.
