Hi Zack, I’m an alumnus.

RE: What housing options are available?

There are seven different student housing facilities on campus, with the majority built within the last decade, and an eighth dorm is under construction now and will be opening Fall 2013. You can read more about them here:
[FAU - Our Residence Halls and Apartments](http://www.fau.edu/housing/Our_Residence_Halls_and_Apartments/index.php)

Off-campus students live at Addison Park, Bicycle Club, Windwood and about 30 different apartment complexes scattered around Boca. A new off-campus student housing project, University Park, is expected to break ground soon near campus.

To learn more about your options there, visit [Florida Atlantic University | Off Campus Housing Search](http://www.fauoffcampus.com).

RE: Is the business program as good as it’s made out to be?

Sure? It has a good reputation, particularly among accounting firms. That said, I wouldn’t get too high on getting an MBA here. With something like that, especially since MBA grads are becoming a dime a dozen nowadays, I would try to get into a Top 10 MBA program.

RE: Are people on campus social?

Yes. Obviously the more people you know, the more things you’ll get invited to do. Club sports and Greek life are especially good for meeting people and having something to do on a regular basis.

RE: Is school spirit obvious?

Absolutely. You’ll see a lot of FAU shirts, hats and hoodies. The campus itself has GO OWLS banners, red and blue paint, Owl statues and the Owl head logo on the Breezeway. School spirit is especially obvious when we play against FIU; if you can, I’d try to make it out to a home game vs FIU.

RE: How are core class and lecture class sizes?

Depends. Some classes, like Intro to College Writing, may only have 30 people. Classes like Anthropology or History of Civilization could have up to 250. I was never in a class with more than 250 students. I’m not sure FAU even has an auditorium for something like 500+ students.

Anyway, you’d be making a good choice coming to FAU.
