Some Good Colleges for me...

I am in the early stages of my college searches and I am looking for something that is fitting for me. Any help would be Awesome

Here are the things that should be put into consideration:
1. I live in California, so I would prefer to stay here because of in-state tuition, but it is not necesary
2. I need something affordable. I am going to need a college that offers hefty financial aid.
3. My GPA is about 3.85 so far.
4. My SAT scores are average. They are between 520-600.
5. Interests for majors: Journalism, Video Production, Communication
6. What I am looking for: I want to be in a city, however, I would rather not be in a city as large as LA. I need a school with a real good social scene, parties are good too, but just as long as it doesn't get in the way of my eductaion.

Thanks!

After seeing your interest in majors, Syracuse University popped into my mind. It's well known for it's excellent communications majors, including TV production and journalism. It's close to the fairly large city of Syracuse, and if you missed the big city you could always head down towards NYC!

As for price, it is rather large, but with financial aid, and scholarship, you never know! It also may be a little to far, and SAT wise a little out of your range, but I'd still check it out.

Here are the best schools in a city for Communications and Journalism

Boston University (Boston, MA)
Emerson College (Boston, MA)
Loyola University - New Orleans (New Orleans, LA)
Northwestern University (just outside Chicago, IL)
Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY...does this count as a city)
University Of Maryland - College Park (just outside of DC)
University Of Southern California (LA, CA)
The University Of Texas At Austin (Austin, TX)

and here is one school that is very good at journalism and communications (just not in a big city)

Indiana University - Bloomington

You have no chance of Northwestern and UT, USC, BU and Syracuse are all stretches with your scores.

Chapman University & University of Miami have good video/film program. They also doe give some merit aids.
