I did summer@brown and I loved the amount of freedom they gave us. I want to do another summer program next year, at a "good" school where I will be challeneged, but not at Brown. So I'm here to ask you people that have gone or know people who have gone to good summer programs, how much freedom did you get? And is there a lot to do in the area during your free time?

Harvard SSP was amazing. No drinking/drugs and a curfew (11 weekdays/ 12:30 weekends) if you're not a rising senior, but complete freedom apart from that. Cambridge/Boston very fun places to spend a summer (even more fun if you've got spending money, but there's good free stuff to do as well)

A warning: Do NOT apply to TASP if you're obsessed with personal freedom. It was an amazing experience and i'm glad that i did it, but i did have a big problem at times with the coddling and mandatory group activities. They keep you on a short leash.
