My GC said my essay is the best essay she’s ever read, so the essays should be good

If this helps me any, my mom is a single mother with 4 kids on a teachers salary…

I’d say you have a pretty solid chance of being admitted.. take your SATs again to put them in the above average range. keep up your junior year grades and GPA and you should be good. your financial situation will not help you any getting in.. but if you are accepted you should get a pretty nice aid package. good luck!

bummmp…

SAT-1300

I presuming that this is 1600. Because if we are talking about the 2400 scale, then no chance at all. The lowest SAT I know of who was admitted on the 2400 scale was a 1520.

yah its out of 1600…i got a 640 on the writing…my act is 29 btw

anyone else?

29 is on the low end there

u shud get it up, and take some sat subjects since bc requires those

or u can just get act up

bump-anyone else?

bummpp…

You have a good shot. Depend on how Senior year turns out and what kind of letters and essay you’ll get.

I’d get the ACT 30 or over and then I’d say you have a really good chance of being admitted

Your extracurriculars are excellent and you should spend some time on your application spelling out what those 175 hours of community service helped achieve in the community.

Agreeing with others in this thread, your ACT at 29 and SAT at 1300 are very borderline. If you go back over the Class of 2011 thread, you will find numerous people who were rejected with similar scores. Given that you are on the border, take these exams again looking for an ACT score of 31 and SAT scores closer to 1380-1400.

Unlike others, I think you need to raise your junior year projections for your final grades and really push harder. Three Bs and one C will hurt your GPA, weighted or not, and show your individual course scores going in the wrong direction.

Good luck in your application process.

wow my bad-those junior year grades are my final ones…i have no idea why i put “projected”..probably writing too much too fast

thanks for the advice everyone, as you all know-these times are very stressful
