Ok so here is my dilemma...
Im going to be a senior in high school which means college aps are soon to come. I really really want to go to UCLA. I have a 4.0+GPA however my SAT scores are pretty low (yes it was depressing). Im planning on taking the ACT in sept and I only have one chance to take either the SATI or SATII in nov b/c i will not be in town in oct. so my question is should i try and improve my SATI or SATII score in nov?...assuming I do pretty well on the ACT.
And also for UCLA which looks better SAT or ACT...that will also affect my decision. Thanks for all the help!

SAT or ACT does not matter.

retake SAT I or SAT II - It depends
How much do you think you can improve on either? Last year, SAT IIs were more important. This year SAT I is more important why? This year you have to take 3 sections of SAT I (3 x 800) + (2 x 800) SAT II.

PB, I found it was better for me to take the ACT. I took 2 SAT review classes and scored really low April 2005. I moved on to the ACT and took it two times. I never submitted the SAT score to any colleges and got in to UCLA, CAL, Princeton and Stanford. The ACT was my GC's suggestion and it worked for me. Good luck.

I hope you aren't considering 2100 "pretty low" because that's just fine. Anything above 2000 should be decent given that other areas are strong, such as say top 5% of your class, strong EC's, 700+ SAT II's, etc.

Thanks so much for the advice. it helps a lot. 2100 is not my low...my low is like too "embarassing to type here" low. haha. but yeah wish me luck on the act!

Don't be embarrassed. I'll tell you right now I got a 1770 and I got in! For the SATII exams, I recommend you reading the Princeton Review guides. What subjects are you taking? I used these guides and they're simple to understand and cut through the unnecessary information, unlike Barrons :|

wow 1770. and you got in! that makes me feel better. thanks =) well im planning on taking math L2 and Lit...
