Hello!:) first of all i am a grade 11 Egyptian student planning to attend college at the usa , and I have been kinda puzzled with the myriad of colleges to which I can apply and most of them don't really provide enough information for international students , so I was wondering if someone can recommend some colleges that provide international students with a fair amount of financial aid , on-campus housing ( at least for freshman) , and majors related to biological studies ? I mean i haven't really decided what major I wanna study but I admire biology and medical studies so it would be preferable if the college has a good studying programs for such studies.

SAT1: 2120 ( 620R - 730W - 770M)
SAT2: not yet taken but hopefully 700+
GPA: 4.0
Rank: top 5% percent.

Activities: active member of the school's student body union(hopefully president in grade 12) , member of multiple community service organizations ( ex. rac , enactus , mini dolars program , English language volunteer tutor , and other civic duty activites)

Can you buy The Fiske Guide or The PRinceton Review’ Best Colleges guide? Those would help you.
Residential colleges always have housing for freshmen and most have it for all students. Note that international students can’t attend medical school in the US (there’s a longer explanation but that’s it in a nutshell).
Your range of colleges would go from Skidmore to St Olaf to Whitman to Rhodes… There are a lot of them!

well i am familiar with the whole medicine thing for international’s but I was hoping that I could study medicine related majors or biological science , genetics , virology , biomedical science , etc … that kinda of majors.
and thanks for the help btw I’ll check the Princeton review and I’ll provide you with the feedback

However, you can indeed go into biomedical engineering, medical research (MD/PHD), bioinformatics, Public Health Administration… There are no restrictions in these fields. Bioinformatics is a strong up and coming field.

@paul2752 I’ve given up with the medical school in the us a long time ago , so as I mentioned above I do wanna study a medicine related major.
Thanks for the help though!

@MYOS1634 that’s exactly what I am talking about , that being said , can you help me deciding which of such majors to choose ? I mean is there some kinda a guide that can help me distinguish each major and it’s curriculum , post-grad future and stuff like that ?

Something you could do is use Supermatch (look on the left, under “FIND A COLLEGE”). Enter Bioinformatics as a major and write down the colleges’ names. Then enter Public Health, Genetics, etc.
Then compare which colleges offer financial aid to internationals (need-based or merit) and which offer more than one major.
Biomedical engineering is the one least likely to let you explore since engineering has a prescribed path. It is also offered at fewer colleges than the other majors (especially in terms of FA for internationals).

@MYOS1634 sry for the late response was kinda busy , so um first of all what do you think of my status , am I competitive enough or should I like get a higher SAT score or do some more EC ?
second of all I did as u said but I got way too many options that I have no idea which of which is fine , in other words what I have come up with this far is as following :
I need a college offering a strong Microbiology Or biomedical Engineering programs.
I need a college that offers a generous amount of financial aid to international’s ( want to pay as much as 10000 or less a year including living costs)

so can you or any one recommend me a few schools that fit these conditions ?

You can reduce your choices by looking primarily at colleges in the South and in the upper Midwest (where it’s very cold), likely to be the only ones where living costs will be below 10,000. Ampng those, cut the strongly Christian schools if you’re not Christian.
Add schools where you have a good shot at merit scholarships - Truman State, Howard, for instance.
For Howard, it’s first-come/first-served, so you should apply this week! With that score, you could get a full ride + (tuition, room&board, money for books and a laptop). But these scholarships go fast: apply right away!
Add Berea, obviously.
You may have a shot at South Dakota School of Mines - I don’t know whether you’d qualify for a merit scholarship that would bring costs down to what you can afford, but you can apply and see.
What does that list look like?

Oops, sorry, I thought you were a senior. No, you have to wait until summer before Senior year (typically, applications are up, or “live”, August 1st or September 1st).

Note that Howard is a HBCU. There’s a small contingent of Nepalese students, too (due to the amazing scholarship program).
Berea is only for students whose families make less than $60,000 a year - which I assume is your case. Everything must be sent in a packet and received January 1st. No exceptions. So depending on how reliable your postal system is, you may want to plan ahead and send the packet well ahead of the deadline.

the problem is , all these colleges you recommended offer next to none regarding bio-related fields.
as I mentioned above , I really do wanna go to a school with a lot of options , but mainly want at least microbiology , genetics , or biomedical engineering.
