Okay, so we got our schedules for next year when I'll be a senior, and I'm reconsidering something. Currently, I'm scheduled for a general level Physics class. This year I took our general level Chemistry, and I'm thinking about changing to AP Chem. My questions: 1) Would I be better off (meaning come college time) with both general Chem and Physics, or with Chem and AP Chem? 2) What would be the thoughts of admission comms when they saw either of these two options? Thanks everyone

not really sure which would look better

but personally id take chem AP

Taking AP Chemistry might well look better to college admissions officers, but I recommend taking physics, especially if there is any chance that you might major in a subject that requires you to take physics in college.

I'm a parent. Way back when I was in college, I knew several people majoring in biology who found it necessary to take college physics even though they had never taken high school physics. They found it quite difficult. There is really no way to make up high school physics once you're in college.

Sometimes what looks best to college admissions officers is not the only consideration.

Physics is most likely an A, if I do the work. The class isn't hard, it's just tedious. I know I'm gonna slack off once I get accepted somewhere either way(just being honest). AP Chem would probably be B's or high C's. My major will not require science classes, only my GenEd requirements.
