Some hope for low test scorers

Let's start a thread to give hope to the people who score low on either the SAT or ACT. So what was your low test score that still got you into Columbia?

God, just wait like everyone else. Go outside.

If you live in new york and make under 33k you might have a good shot

^how so? 10 char

I have three friends who got in with “low” scores:

1990 + Double Legacy + Ranked Top Half
2040 + Puerto Rican + Ranked Top Half
1900 + African American + Ranked Bottom Quarter

See the picture?

“Hope is on the way”

Yikes…Was this one at least a top prep/magnet school kid? There are maybe 10 HSes in the nation where bottom quarter doesn’t look bad for state school, let alone Ivy.

What would one consider low for ACT?

I believe the 50th percentile for the act at Columbia is 29-34

^ I thought it was 30-33

I should have mentioned: the DL is a Specialized HS grad, the URMs top prep grads.

“Specialized HS grad,” stuy?

Last year, according to the Columbia website, the middle 50% ACT scores were 31-34. According to the email sent to parents, the range was 31-35.
