Let's start a thread to give hope to the people who score low on either the SAT or ACT. So what was your low test score that still got you into UPenn?

2250 = 770 cr, 740 m, 740 w.

thats not low. thats good!

pablo - that is not low by any standard.

Penn might be a little harder to get into than Dartmouth, but I know a girl with a 2030 who got into Dartmouth… no hooks, no URM, no nothin…

Test scores: SAT I Writing: 500 Critical Reading: 560 Math: 690
SAT II: Math 2: 710 Spanish: 730

I have always been bad at English. I have amazing extra-curriculars, Hispanic, and First Generation.

Very encouraging thread.

SAT Superscore: 1990
SAT Highest Sitting: 1950
Math: 670 / Reading: 650 / Writing: 670

ACT Highest Composite Score: 29
ACT Superscore: 31
English: 30 / Math: 33 / Reading: 34 / Science: 25

SAT II Math II: 760 / US History: 720

Was accepted to Wharton.

Cuteaccountant - how were your GPA/EC’s and class rank? i’m just wondering, to see if I have a chance at all. I applied RD …

CuteAccountant- there must be more than the information you posted for acceptance to Wharton. Nationality, sports, ECs, connections, first to go to college, etc?

Okay a 2250 is no way a low score…

MY score on the other hand is a low score. I have a 30 on the ACT. I was deferred but i sent in some cool additional things so I hope that is taken into consideration!

superscore was 1810, got into huntsman

(retook the test in december and got a 1940 tho, making my superscore 2000 exactly but it was too late to send this score/pointless anyways).

But yeah, basically. 1810. i think most of it depends on if English is your first language/if youre an URM

Well yeah, there’s more to my acceptance than just my low score lol. But I believe the point of this thread is mainly to prove that having a low score doesn’t mean the end of the world. And I’m not URM (at least, I don’t think Asian counts as URM status), not recruited for sports, had no connections, and have no amazing/spectacular ECs or awards.

I think people just wanted to make sure you had no major hooks that gave you preferential treatment…but seeing as how you didn’t, I’m sure you more than made up for it in other areas, such as GPA and courseload. Congratulations by the way!

I’m still hoping, after my deferral, that my 2110 (only took it one time) is good enough for Penn

34 ACT that I got back when I was a sophomore.

Well, a 2250 was too low for me the first time (I was originally rejected, and transferred from Cornell), so I thought I would include it in the thread.

woah @ Peruviansinger, those writing/CR scores are really low for Penn! Any information we’re missing??

Yeah a bit. However, besides English, I excel in all subjects. I talked about my english problems, which I guess helped. ??? W/e I am very excited and try to work on my english. Thanks HonorsCentaur. Just to tell everyone. SATs are important, however, extra-curriculars are what set you apart, which is what helped me get in(i think).

cool, well i hope i get to meet you next year. (RD applicant)
are you in SEAS, Wharton, or CAS?

Cas!!!
