Let's start a thread to give hope to the people who score low on either the SAT or ACT. So what was your low test score that still got you into Cornell?

I just got in yesterday. I had a 1910. So it really does show that they look at a lot more than SAT scores.

I had 1870, though got in ED.
Still, Essays, Teacher Recommendations, ED, and your GPA should help.

someone from my school got in Cornell with a 600 CR and 690 Math 2 yrs ago. (She had a 99 weighted GPA, which was considered as a 4.0 at my school.)

Never scored higher than 670 on both CR and Math in three attempts, yet AEM accepted me.

I got a 670 on my SAT I math and a 630 on my SAT Math I (not II, the more difficult of the two) subject test, and I got into ILR ED. My other scores weren’t all that hot (relatively) either, with a 720 CR and a 700 Lit Subject Test. My writing, which was the highest of all my scores but wasn’t even strongly considered by Cornell, was my highest at a 780.

Oh Islander, you got in! That’s great. I remember all that business with Admissions losing your essays when ED decisions came out. You must have been pulling your hair out these last few months!

This is a great thread.

I got in today with a 2000.

This sounds corny, but BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! If you demonstrate true passion through ECs and write a great essay, you have hope.

CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2014!

WOW THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! I have a 2080 but a high GPA and good ECs and really great relationships with a few of my teachers (meaning hopefully really great recs) so this makes me feel a lot better. I’ve taken the SATs like 3 times with about the same score each time so I was starting to give up hope. I hated that feeling that I tried so hard for 2 and a half years… then I couldn’t do well on the SAT. One aspect that pretty much offshot all of my hard work.

I’m a junior by the way.

haha i agree xD this is a great thread
