Last year I was in the exact same spot as many of you. I would see others get accepted and would freak out thinking I would never get in. I ended up hearing back from UCI way past their admission decision deadline. If anything, I just wanted to give back and tell you that if there is anything weird with your transcripts, or if you have some Fs here and there but you seem like a hard working person, they will review your transcript and take the time to make a fair judgement. At least that was my experience going through the application process. After receiving my admission decision in April (accepted), my admission counselor actually took the time to write me and acknowledge what an usual situation I was in, and how much she believed in me. That was definitely worth the wait.
Hang in there!
Good luck to you all.
And if anyone has any questions for a Psych major at UCI I would be happy to answer them!

Correction: I received my admission decision in May!

how does the admission work, like, if you apply as an non-impacted, what does that mean for you, you just have a MORE LIKELIER CHANCE on getting in?

Absolutely. Last year I saw people getting in with a GPA of 3.01 in non-impacted majors that had a cut Off GPA of 3.0
However keep in mind that these days even majors that are not impacted are still pretty competitive, and the review process (at least here at UCI) is holistic, which means they take everything into consideration including your personal statement.

Hey tillyzinha, I would really appreciate any info about the Psych program at UCI. Also, do you know anything about the Psych and Social Behavior Program? Thanks a lot.
