I agree with northmom

bumpy bumpy bump

I'm sorry, I'm gonna state what seems kind of obvious to me:

Chicago
Northwestern
Emory
Carnegie Mellon

YOU WILL NOT GET INTO THESE SCHOOLS. You're GPA is waaaaaay too low with no excuse. I'm sorry but it is what it is. Claremont McKenna and UCB might also belong on this list, but I don't know enough about them. If you were a URM or an athlete or a high-roller legacy then it would be different.

Also, what are your ECs and your rank if its reported?

Heh, drummer I am quite aware of that too but I am kinda of hoping I will be the next Cinderella :)

My EC:

Year 9 (if it counts?) Silver medal in 4x100 relay representing the state of Penang in KL invitational track tournament. [If this counts, will it be a huge hook? I idn't bother with track after I came to US though]

400+ hours of internship in various places including my dad's company.

Several other weak ones that I am too ashamed to list.

My rank? OUCH! 200/450

This is my final list. Please tell me if my predictions are accurate. And also comments, suggestions etc are extremely welcomed.

class rank=

20 schools! WOW...thats just insane.

200/450.....

rank will be your limiting factor.

my rank is also lower than my high SAT's

what i am doing is looking up all colleges i want to apply to on www.collegeboard.com and comparing acceptance rates of people who graduated in the top 25% of their class, the top half, etc.

i suggest you do the same. many schools have the common data sheet hidden somewhere on their website with more detailed information.

for example:
wake forest-94% in top quarter of graduating class
you have average SAT score for wake forest

for this school i would say that even i would have no chance because my rank is top 30% at a normal public school even though i have higher SAT's than you

you can bet that those 6% are all URMs, developmental cases, recruited athletes, students from very intense private schools, etc

perhaps focus on LAC's, which are a little less number driven

you need to cut down your list and apply to more realistic schools.

good luck

I do have some matches on my list such as the lower UC, pepperdine, cal poly etc. I am merely adding some dream schools as a sort of gamble. The worst scenario is that i will waste 60 bucks for every college I am rejected by. But besides that, do I have anything to lose?

if i even have 5% chance at 1 of those schools, I should have a pretty decent chance to attend one of them.

The question now is that hmm...is my predictions accurate so I know what to expect from each school?

Thank you.

Take a statistics class.

seriously dude, take a statistics class. not only because it will help as corranged is saying, but it is definitely the easiest class you can take other than electives and gym. it may be boring but it will boost your gpa. great fun

i am halfway through 12th grade already. I can't :(
