Some Last Minute Tips

Well the deadline is a matter of hours away. Here are some tips to keep your submission smooth;
[ul]
[li] Make sure you submit ALL parts of the application. When you click on the "My Colleges" section of the CA, and then on the UVA tab, be sure that the options "Application", "Supplements", and "Payments" show up green. (Credit to Dean J for this one)
[/li]

[li] Make sure you write down the RIGHT scores. Yes this may sound stupid, but some people (me) write the wrong scores.
[/li]

[li] Make sure you order your scores to be sent TONIGHT. You must have your scores sent tonight.
[/li]

[li] Your counselors and teachers have until January 10th to submit school forms, transcripts, and recommendations. Make sure you are on top of them to send these items.
[/li]

[li] Read over your essays one last time. You may think your essays are perfect, but there are always mistakes you could have missed. Get a ruler and read each line ALOUD. You will almost definitely find something you want to change.
[/li]

[li] Don't be alarmed if items don't show up on your "to-do list". It takes some time for the documents you send in to be filed.
[/li]

[li] If you do make a mistake on your application don't freak-out. The admissions team at UVA is there to help you. I'm sure they will gladly help you fix the mistake no questions asked.
[/li]

[li] Last and most importantly BE PROUD OF YOURSELF. Four years of high school, countless test sittings, and hours spent on your app for this moment. The time is finally here. Once you submit your application it is over. Don't think about it nonstop because you will only stress yourself out.[/li][/ul]

Good Luck Everyone Tonight! Try not to freak out!

OMG D00D you just saved me . I didn’t submit the commonapp signature for uva

good luck man. I know how bad you wanna go to UVA.

In addition to UVaorBust’s well-versed list.

Print Preview your supplement to make sure the correct documents were uploaded.

That is a great point to add to the list woosah.

UVAorBust…Okay, now that the apps have all been submitted, I have to ask – if you’re accepted to UVa, will you choose it over any of the schools on your list? Penn? Columbia? Duke? Dartmouth? Harvard? Princeton? Stanford? Northwestern? You been pretty zealous about UVa for some time now and have always said you would; I’m just wondering if this is still the case.

jc40 - I will choose UVA. Lets face it, I’m a dreamer. I applied to Harvard, Columbia, Princeton, all those colleges. I would say I have a .001% of admission. UVA has always been the school I want to attend. I spent the majority of my application time on my UVA app making sure everything was perfect. I know so many people that go to UVA who are just wonderful. Also UVA is an amazing deal in terms of money. My parents will pay for any school I want to attend but you honestly can’t beat UVA. If I somehow did get into another college and UVA there are so many reasons UVA would be my #1. Amazing Alumni network, weather, community, how nice people in the south are, fantastic business school, SPORTS, not overly competitive like all these Ivies. It really is just the perfect school. One of the only schools I know that is extremly respected accedemically that also hosts every other college aspect a student could want.

Sorry if this isn’t edited. I’m on a new computer and Microsoft Word isn’t yet installed.
