@Momtothreegirls I haven’t looked at Case too closely! I’ll get on that, thank you so much for the suggestion!
@saraheliza862, I read @merc81 to mean that certain schools which may be considered reaches can be high matches/low reaches for those who profile in the top-10% at certain schools - not schools with sub-15% acceptance rates as everyone is a reach then, but yes for ones around the 20-25% acceptance range. That was our DD’s outcome as well.
OP, my daughter ruled out Harvey Mudd for a similar reason (the name). At least you have the sense to get over the initial giggles over the name
I would add Wake Forest. Although not a huge city, Winston Salem is pretty cool (3 miles from campus) and Wake provides shuttles to it’s new downtown campus. 4800-5000 undergrads so it’s a good fit. Tons of outdoor activities and a vibrant D1 sports scene (unusual for a small school, but hey compete in the ACC and hold their own in Football and Basketball while excelling at other sports - soccer, baseball).
Similar academic feel as Richmond and William & Mary (small classes, intimate professor relationships, no TAs teaching classes, research ops, etc.). Overall probably closer feel to Richmond as it’s private in a beautiful suburban campus with a geographically dispersed student base. Pulls from a lot of the same states. About 50% larger student body than Richmond but at the lower end of your preferred range.
