My essays are pretty decent, but my recs are so-so (both teachers, one is stanford alumni).

Im applying ED as undecided major, but do I have to pick a school first, or can I simply choose undecided for that as well? Also, I'm taking my ACT's in september, and my SAT's in nov, so I was wondering If I could just void my current 1910 score and use my ACT's (if theyre good), since ED deadline is nov. 1. Finally, how/for what date should I apply for interviews?
help MUCH appreciated. thanks

Well CLAS is hardest to get into I think, so you should take that into mind. You need to bump your SATs up a lot, easier said than done. And you should have some idea about what area you want to major in whether it be history, chemistry, or something else cause that affects what classes from high school are scrutinized the most. Like if you are going to physics, then they won't care as much about your english AP grade. And you do have to pcik a school and you can use your ACTs instead of SATs, but be sure to take the writing section of the ACT.

And they'll contact you about interviews. I never had one, so it shows that they aren't worth that much. They're mainly used for applicants to talk to alumni and find out about the school rather than being an evaluation by the inteviewer about you.

i see. im actually think of applying to the college of human ecology for some sort of bio major (whether it be premed, biochem, or molecular). How much do you think my sat ii's should be for that(is that what you meant I should bump up)?also, which college is good for an english major?
thanks

College of Arts and Sciences (usually abbreviated CAS--there is no "Liberal" in the name) is the hardest to get into statistically, but it's probably the best place to apply if you have no idea what you want to do. English majors would be in CAS. For bio related majors, you have options in 4 schools: CAS (biology), Human Ecology (biology and society), Agriculture and Life Sciences (most majors here have something to do with biology) or Engineering (biological and environmental engineering). For what you suggested, you might want to apply to CALS, not HumEc.

For schools except Hotel and Architecture, Art and Planning, you do not apply for an interview; an informal alumni interview is given to you if there are any alumni near you.
