Some non-academic questions for Columbia students?

Caution: May offend some people.

Where do most people party (on campus, in the city, etc. specifics would be great)??

I hear lots of people on campus are into heavy drugs, is this true?

What do most people do for fun on the weekends? Do people do anything for fun?

Are girls at Columbia more like sorority TV girls or like no-fun stereotypical book nerds?

Is the campus cohesive/community feel?

Are people on campus happy and enjoyable to be around or are most people really serious, boring, and not smiling (a.k.a MIT and UChicago)

Thanks

Where do they party? In the dorms, in the frats, at the local bars, elsewhere (cubs/bars/etc.) in the city

Drugs? Plenty of people smoke pot. People do more dangerous drugs (X, coke, etc.), but I can't say that "lots of people" do those drugs. And it is unlikely that people will do those sort of drugs on campus rather than at some nightclub.

Fun on the weekends? Explore NYC (sites, museums, walking around, shopping, etc.). At night, the same thing people do at any other college -- drink, party, etc.

Girls? You'll get a good mix. Some nerds, some party girls. It isn't UT Austin if that's what you're asking.

Community feel? Somewhat. The rah-rah spirit is lacking, partially because of the horrible sports program. Also, Columbia draws on all of NYC and isn't isolated from society, so that affects the cohesiveness.

Happy and enjoyable? Definitely. Most people are well rounded and can balance school and having fun.

Flip side of the girls question, what about the guys? lol
